Jack "Murf the Surf" Murphy, artist, author, musician, sportsman and Christian motivator lives in Florida and travels the world as the International Director of "Champions for Life" Ministry.
In 1964 Murphy gained international notoriety when he and his partner stole the J. P. Morgan Gem Collections from a New York Museum. Included in that infamous "Crime of the Century" was the "Star of India Sapphire", the "DeLong Ruby", the "Eagle Diamond" and 26 other precious jewels.
A self-taught prison artist, Murphy found escape and tranquility from the surrounding world of cell block chaos through expression on canvas. His vivid imagination and extraordinary artistic talent bring beaches, boats, birds and blue skies alive with pulsating vitality. The sense of freedom Murphy has captured in the Florida Lights have made this brilliantly expressed series a much sought after collector's item.
